Illustrative Humour
This post from the Mises Blog neatly sums up the difference between the market and the state's approach to dealing with an increase in demand. Remember this is how the Canadian government regards an increase in demand for health care services; not as an opportunity but as an obligation to be minimized. And people still wonder why the waiting lists keep getting longer.

The United States Postal Service admitted it has been shredding millions of Christmas cards and letters to help cope with a glut of seasonal mail it simply can't handle.
No it is not true, but I thought that after this Hoppe boondoggle it would be nice to laugh a little. Reminds me of that UPS joke:
Two friends meet shortly before Christmas. One works for UPS, the other for the Post Office.
Post Office guy: "How are things at work?"
UPS guy: "Great! Things couldn't be better! Business is way up! How about you?"
Post Office guy: "Terrible! Too many people!
