The "unimaginative committee of government PR reps" that you refer to are actually readers who submitted their ideas and metaphors. Sorry to disappoint you, only the "If 54% of restaurant meals..." one is created by us unimaginative government reps. If you check the Savvy Diner site from a home or office computer (rather than the mobile site that you're looking at), you'll see dozens of others that have been submitted.

Below is the response I got from the Savvy Diner apparatchiks after I emailed them a link to this post and asked a question as to how to vote no. I have no idea what the hell they are talking about...
